2011 SEASON: .174 AVG 3 HR 22 RBI

What would this team be without a Jeff Mathis sighting. Obviously, he is one of those Angels players that never quite panned out to put it lightly. But more impressively, Mathis put up back to back seasons with a batting average under the mendoza line (.200) and still had a job. And it wasn’t like he had any value defensively, in 2011 he allowed 48 stolen bases, and had a caught stealing percentage of 28 which was 58th in the MLB.

Mathis is still bouncing around the league and has been able to stay in the majors due to his defense and pitch calling, but he will never be known as an offensive juggernaut.
