Jefry Marte – Jefry Marte was acquired in the off-season from Detroit and has proved the be a valuable asset for the team playing both first base and third base. Marte is batting .219 with five homers and 13 RBI’s which are not spectacular, but he has had some big games throughout the season.

Marte has played both first and third base for the season and even one ill-fated game defensively in left field. He will become even more important now with C.J. Cron on the DL. We will see how does the rest of the season.

Grade: C Marte has been adequate this season at times he has played spectacularly and other times not so much. The fact that he can play multiple positions and has shown the ability to hit the long ball make him a valuable player to have off the bench. If given a consistent starting role he could produce some decent numbers.
