Los Angeles Angels First Base: First half recap

Ji-Man Choi – Ji-Man Choi has played three different positions for the Angels this season first, third, and left field. That has been the most important thing Choi has provided. Other than that he has been deplorable at most everything else. Choi is batting .083 so far this with only two hits in 24 at-bats.
Grade: D- The only thing that keeps Choi from getting an F is his versatility defensively. He is clearly not ready to play at the major league level. Although he has not been given much of a chance at the plate with only 24 at-bats in 16 games. Choi may get better with more playing time, which he will get now that Cron is out for at least a month.
Overall first base has been a strength for the Angels with Cron and Pujols combining for 26 HR’s and 111 RBI’s, but that will be test with Cron on the DL. We will see with the second half starting today.
