Top 10 Worst Trades in LA Angels history

#3 – November 27, 1996 = Angels trade 1B J.T. Snow to San Francisco for Pitchers Allen Watson and Fausto Macey.
This trade was doomed from the start or so it seemed. Allen Watson came to the Angels with a career 5.01 ERA which to me already was a red flag and Fausto Macey had never reached the Triple-A before coming to the Angels.
So what did the two pitchers do after being acquired. Macey never pitched in the majors for the Angels in three seasons after that they let him go. As for Watson, he pitched two seasons for the Angels going 18-19 with a 5.28 ERA and the Angels chose not to resign him.
Snow on the other went to San Francisco and had a long productive career playing 10 seasons for the Giants. Snow won four Gold Gloves at first base and he hit .273 with 124 homers with 615 RBI’s with a .369 On-Base Percentage. He was a key part in the Giants run to the 2002 World Series where San Francisco met the Angels. Snow was most known for saving Giants’ manager Dusty Baker’s son from getting trampled at home plate as he grabbed Darren Baker who had inadvertently ran out to retrieve the bat when the ball was in play,
This trade was definitely “No Bueno” when it comes to the Angels.
