#8 – 10/1/88 – Angels trade pitcher David Holdridge to Philadelphia for Catcher Lance Parrish

Lance Parrish was a seven-time All-Star catcher with three Gold Gloves when the Angels acquired him. They gave up a young pitcher in David Holdridge who never made it to the Majors until 1998 and then only pitched 6.2 innings for the Seattle Mariners. Parrish did a great job for the four years he was with the Angels sporting a .993 fielding percentage.

Parrish hit .241 which wasn’t great but he hit 64 homers and drove in 182 runs in four seasons and made the 1990 AL All-Star team.  This was definitely a win for the Angels as far as the trade goes.
