The State of the LA Angels Starting Rotation

Jered Weaver –
Angel veteran Jered Weaver has had a roller coaster season. His fastball dropped a lot of speed and early on was getting beat up from opposing teams. As the season has progressed he has seemed to get into more of a groove, but when you’re throwing a fastball that tops out at around 80-84 mph you’re just asking for the batter to hit a home run. This year Weaver has posted 5.32 ERA in 111.2 innings pitched while going 8-8. If his stats don’t improve a lot this will be his worst season in his career, with the 2015 season being his second worst. Weaver has had a slow but steady decline and this very well may be his last year with the Angels as his contract is up at the end of this season.
