Aside from Tim Lincecum, the Angels pitching staff has played much better in July. Hector Santiago has played well this season with a 9-4 record and an ERA of 4.28. Jered Weaver has also out preformed expectations with a 8-8 record this season.

Often what happens to the pitching staff is situational, especially with Matt Shoemaker who’s numbers don’t do him justice. However, the emergence of Cam Bedrosian and Deolis Guerra have been excitable as far as set-up men go.

August will arguably be the hardest month for the Angels this season. They’ll face the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, and the Seattle Mariners twice among others.

On paper, the Angels will struggle during the month of August as they did in June. However, if the pitching staff can keep the heavy hitters at bay, Mike Trout and company should be able to put enough points on the board to win at least half of those games.
