Another key of success that the Angels have had recently has been the improved pitching of their bullpen.

Sure the Angels have had ups and downs concerning their bullpen. There has been a lot of moving positions in that one area, moving pitchers up and down from the minors as well as making free agent acquisitions. For the most part, a lot of the moves have paid dividends for the Angels such as the signing of Guerra and the promotion of Cam Bedrosian.

In the last month for the Halos, the Angels’ bullpen has performed well as they have only blown three saves since July 5th. Names like Guerra and Bedrosian have an ERA of 2.78 and 1.12 respectively.

Besides those two, Jhoulys Chacin has also pitched very well for the Angels in the last month. In his last seven games, he has a WHIP of 0.96 and an ERA of 2.70. His game has been much appreciated early on as he has been known as the “innings eater” for the Angels coming out of the bullpen.

Even with the departure of one of the Angels best in Joe Smith, the Angels’ bullpen has performed admirably.  Hopefully this will continue throughout the rest of the season.
