Los Angeles Angels have lost their fifth straight game
The Los Angeles Angels are closing the season with a losing streak heading into October. Ideally, this is not how the team wants their season to end.
At this point, it is safe to say the Los Angeles Angels are limping to the finish line of 2016. Last night, the Angels couldn’t by a hit off of R.A. Dickey. Dickey stunned the fans of the Big A with five scoreless innings.
The Blue Jays are still in the hunt for a Wild Card spot, they sit just two games behind Boston for a chance to play into the postseason. The Angels have lost five straight games this week.
As a result, they’ll likely remain in the last place position in the AL West. Currently, the Oakland Athletics have a one game lead on the Halos.
What’s important going into the offseason is small moral victories. For example, not being in the last place position in the AL West.
Sure beating out the A’s for fourth place isn’t a huge uplift for the Los Angeles Angels, but it’s something. It’s a goal, it’s something to play for. The Halos need something to play for.

Surely the Angels aren’t going to drop every game for the remainder of the season. A season that has been a huge disappointment.
In fact, the Angels will see Oakland on the 26th of September. The battle for fourth place is important in the AL West. No one wants to be dead last in any division of any sport.
I want to see Mike Scioscia get fired up (for once) at this team, not the refs. I want to see a motivational speech that rivals Hoosiers, Rudy, and Any Given Sunday. This team is better than fifth place in the Al West. This team has more fight in them for this season.
Next: Should Skaggs pitch this season
I fully expect the Los Angeles Angels to give all that they have on the field. As they should, at the end of the day; records matter. For the Angels to avoid the last place position this season is a small step towards the top of the AL West next season.
