No. 2 positive sign we’d like to see by the end of the 2021 season for the LA Angels: A Justin Upton resurgence

Justin Upton has had an up-and-down year this year for the LA Angels.

He started off the season slow, and then went crazy once he was put into the leadoff spot in the lineup. His injury on June 22nd, however, has seemed to have a big impact on his game. Not only did he miss a month, but he’s hit .153/.231/.237 with just one home run and just four RBI since his return.

The former number one overall pick has the talent to be one of the best hitters in this league. Remember, he was just that before his injury.

In the 24 games before his injury, he smoked six home runs and hit .319/.421/.604. He drove in 14 runs from the leadoff spot.

Tuesday was a good start to getting back on track, as he went two for four with two RBI and a run scored.

He’s proven this year that he can be capable of keeping that up. It’s just a matter of when he can get hot. The 33-year-old still has plenty left in him.
