After the LA Angels signed Noah Syndergaard to a one-year/$21 million deal, many wondered whether this was going to be it or not.

It's not a particularly cheap deal, and reports suggested that the Angels were possibly only in on one starting pitcher.

CBS Sports MLB Analyst and former MLB General Manager (and 1999 Executive of the Year) Jim Bowden made it clear on Wednesday that they are most certainly nowhere near being done. The Angels lost their second round pick by signing Syndergaard due to Syndergaard having been extended the Qualifying Offer by the Mets, and Bowden makes it clear that a second rounder is not the only resource they'll be willing to sacrifice.

"This is just the beginning," said Bowden. "If you think it's bad to lose your second pick, wait for them to be finished this winter."

Jim Bowden has the LA Angels in on just about everybody this winter.

Name a high-profile starting pitcher that is available via free agency or the trade block. I can almost promise you that Bowden revealed that the Angels are working on them.

""Because they're in on Max Scherzer, they're in on Kevin Gausman, they're in on Robbie Ray. They're trying to trade for Luis Castillo of the Reds. They've had conversations with Oakland about Frankie Montas and Chris Bassitt. They've talked to the Marlins about their pitching. Guess what? The Angels offseason is just getting started." "

He said that he spoke with Perry Minasian recently, and was told that Arte Moreno WILL indeed be supplying him with the resources he needs to build a stacked rotation.

That's how it should be. Moreno is worth $3.6 billion, having plenty of money to spend on this baseball team. Even with the Syndergaard signing, the Angels still only have under $139 million on the books for 2022. That's eighth in MLB, and the Angels absolutely can get up to $200 million.

No longer having to worry about Albert Pujols' contract, and having Shohei Ohtani for cheap, there's no excuse to not give what will be a stacked group of position players a good rotation. Now that we know Minasian certainly wants to be aggressive, it's going to be all about getting it done and making it happen now that the rest is in place.
