CHICAGO, IL – AUGUST 25: Ian Kinsler
CHICAGO, IL – AUGUST 25: Ian Kinsler

Lead-off hitter = Ian Kinsler – second baseman

Ian Kinsler is a veteran and a four-time all-star who has shown a pension to get on base as well as hit for power and a good batting average.  Kinsler is a career .273 hitter with a .342 on-base-percentage so he knows how to get on base and is good at making contact.

In addition Kinsler has 234 career homers with 839 RBIs and 225 stolen bases.  Despite having a down season in 2017 where he only hit .236 average, Kinsler is the right man for the job.

There are other options the Angels could potentially choose such as Kole Calhoun or maybe even Andrelton Simmons both of which could be used occasionally in this spot or if Kinsler doesn’t pan out.
