No. 2 Mariners trade target for the LA Angels if team is willing to sell in-division: JT Chargois

The Mariners have already traded a reliever to a division rival, and if they’re down to do it again, the LA Angels should check in on JT Chargois.

Chargois had some inconsistencies to start out the first few years of his career. This year though, nobody would be able to tell. His WHIP is down to 0.876, and he only walks 1.8 batters per every nine innings.

Chargois looks great, and his trade value will reflect that. If the Mariners are willing to sell (which their Graveman trade makes it seem like they’re at least thinking about it), Chargois would be a legitimate trade chip.

The Angels don’t have enough quality relievers in their pen, and could steal one from a team also contending for a Wild Card playoff spot.

Chargois’ ERA is at 2.12, which is a dream for the Angels. The Mariners have a lot of arms, and they don’t need all of them.
