ESPN makes absolutely ridiculous suggestion about Mike Trout's future

The most insane Mike Trout take in history may have just been made via an ESPN Fantasy notification on Friday.

Seth Carlson, who runs FanSided's Nolan Writin', pointed out this horrible ESPN notification he received:

That's correct, ESPN is suggesting that Trout may be "washed up at 30"...You know it's bad when fans of rival teams, like Carlson, are even tweeting about this garbage. One significant injury and people are claiming Trout could be done.

It's even more ridiculous when it was revealed that Trout possibly could have even come back at the end of the season last year, but he and the LA Angels simply decided not to because they were out of playoff contention. It wasn't even a literally season-ending injury, as the team decided to sit him out for the entirety of the remaining schedule only to make sure he'd be good to go for spring training. And as for his performance, he couldn't be any better.

Mike Trout was having the best season of his career for the LA Angels before he was injured last year.

Before he went down last season, Mike Trout was feasting like he never had before for the LA Angels. Hitting .333/.466/.624 (1.090 OPS), those were all career highs except for his slugging percentage (which was still great).

That slugging percentage was still great because he was hitting for power too. He had eight home runs and eight doubles in just the 36 games he logged before the calf tear from hell. That would mean that he was on pace for 36 home runs and 36 doubles in a full season.

Scoring 23 runs in those 36 contests, he was on pace for 103.5 runs over a full 162. Not to mention, he's still special and underrated on defense too. The man hasn't made an error since the 2019 season.

He played 36 games last year and was STILL selected as the starting center fielder in the All-Star Game.

I do not have ESPN+, so I don't know if Fantasy analyst Eric Karabell did indeed say that he is "washed up." The fact that it was even asked, however, despite such significant evidence to the opposite, secures it as an absolutely absurd take and question to ask.

We've officially lost touch with reality during this lockout. For the first time in history, we're for some reason questioning the great Trout.
