The Los Angeles Angels are 10 games from the end of the 2017 season. However,  these 10 games are critical to the postseason. The Angels must regroup from a tough series against Cleveland.

The Los Angeles Angels are still in a very tight MLB Wild Card race. However, the window is beginning to close. The Angels are currently 2.5 games behind Minnesota for the final spot. What’s problematic is the Texas Rangers are 2.5 games as well. The Angels are coming off a four-game skid. Three of which are at the hands of the Cleveland Indians.

The Angels are embarking on their last road trip of the season. They’ll stop for three games in Houston and four games in Chicago versus the White Sox. The next three games in Houston are beyond important. Basically, the season comes down to these three games. The Angels have to win these next three to at least maintain striking distance.

The Texas Rangers have won four in a row to close the gap on the Angels. Tonight, they’ll begin a three-game series with Oakland. Oakland remains 9.5 games behind Minnesota for the Wild Card, meaning one more loss would eliminate them from postseason contention. However, the Rangers have looked poised to sneak into the postseason. They could very well leapfrog the Angels this weekend.

The Minnesota Twins currently have the final spot. Although, they aren’t 100 percent safe. Minnesota rebounded last night against the Detroit Tigers after losing three-in-a-row to the New York Yankees. They’ll play the Tigers two more times before they travel to Cleveland to face the Indians.

Keeping the focus on these three teams is key to the overall outcome of this race. Although, Kansas City is not far behind. They are one game behind the Rangers and Angels.
