No. 1 discouraging sign from the Little League Classic for the LA Angels: Offensive struggles continue
The LA Angels have been atrocious on the offensive side since July, and that continued in the Little League Classic.
The #Angels offense scored just two runs in 27 innings in their 3-game set against Cleveland.

Since the beginning of July, the Angels have scored the 4th-fewest runs (172), have the 4th-worst wRC+ (88), and have hit a collective .240/.300/.380.
The Halo offense couldn’t have been much more disappointing than they were in this series, scoring a total of two runs. After scoring 24 runs in their three games against Detroit, the Angels offense fell off the face of the earth.
It unfortunately feels expected recently for the Angels offense to falter like this. They scored nothing in the Little League Classic, and only had four hits.
The team will head to Baltimore on Tuesday, home to the worst team in baseball. If they still can’t score against the O’s, then we’ve really got problems.
This series is a great opportunity to get back on track. Who knows when Mike Trout is going to return?
It’s why we need to raise our game no matter what the update is. Perhaps we sweep the Orioles and then get a healthy Trout for the end of this month through the end of the season. We’ll be in a spot where we can compete as a franchise.
Should we extend Cobb?. Next
All we know for sure is that this offense needs to wake up.
