No. 2 free agent the LA Angels should avoid when lockout ends: Kris Bryant

Kris Bryant is in a similar boat as Freeman in that while he is a great player, he doesn't fit the LA Angels. The good thing about Bryant is not just that he's an impressive offensive player, but that he can play every position on the diamond other than second base and catcher.

Therefore, the only spot where he doesn't create a logjam of too many guys at one position himself is shortstop. Shortstop isn't his natural position, though, and the Halos should pass on spending the big bucks on a shortstop who's much better at other positions. I'd buy it if the Halos didn't have such strong needs in the pitching staff, but they certainly do have plenty of needs there.

The Angels need to go after pitching before being aggressive on a guy like KB. Lackluster pitching has kept the Halos out of the postseason for seven straight years now. The team has already signed Noah Syndergaard and Aaron Loup, and committed the big bucks to Raisel Iglesias.

Follow through with the plans to fix the pitching. Our lineup will be very good next year, and great if Anthony Rendon bounces back. The Angels need to focus on where they're not strong while they can in this offseason.
