LA Angels Rule 5 Draft selection wins the fanbase over on Twitter
The LA Angels selected Kenny Rosenberg in the Rule 5 Draft on Wednesday, and he already seems to be a fan favorite.
The pitcher immediately expressed pleasure in being picked by the Angels on Twitter:
Not too long after, Rosenberg asked for a favor from the fans. He wanted somebody to change his profile picture to one of him wearing an Angels uniform:
Many tried, but only one could win. Rosenberg picked this masterpiece to be his new profile picture:
Seeing Kenny Rosenberg interact with LA Angels fans like this was awesome.
And it's not just this interaction that Kenny Rosenberg is connecting with LA Angels fans. He appeared on the 'Locked On Angels' podcast just a day after he was taken:
Rosenberg even corresponded with NFL Network Analyst, Adam Rank, who wants to meet up with Rosenberg for a beer. Rank is a huge Halo fan.
Last year, Rosenberg was with the Rays' Minor League system. With the AA club (Montgomery Biscuits), he had two starts where he allowed just a 3.60 ERA and posted a 10.8 K/9 rate. With the AAA club (Durham Bulls), Rosenberg shoved to a tune of a 2.35 ERA, a 1.207 WHIP, and a 12.6 K/9 rate in 14 games.
Not only is Rosenberg a young pitcher (only 26 years old) who's budding with potential, but he's got quite the sense of humor to go along with it:
Already making friends with the Angels meme lords, we're all glad to have Rosenberg on the team.
Rosenberg will have the chance to bring potential to an Angels pitching staff that will be under the microscope this year, as the Halos seem to be mostly set as far as their crop of position players goes. The pitching is what's going to decide how far the Angels will go in 2022.
Rosenberg has the chance to really make his mark on this ballclub, and he just might. He clearly enjoys being here.
