Former 10-year LA Angel Albert Pujols does not yet know if he will be playing Major League Baseball in 2022.

What he does know, however, is that he'll be taking a new role for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race. It will be in Fontana at Auto Club Speedway. Pujols will be the pace car driver.

Los Angeles Rams standout Andrew Whitworth will also be participating at the NASCAR Power 400 in Fontana with Pujols. He will serve as the grand marshal.

Albert Pujols is still one of the greatest baseball players of all time despite his run with the LA Angels.

Albert Pujols may not have had the best run with the LA Angels, but he's still very well-liked in the sports world, as evidenced by this opportunity.

Pujols has 679 home runs, and 2,150 RBIs over 21 seasons in the Big Leagues. He is considered to be one of the five best right-handed hitters in baseball history. To make his career even more impressive, the future first-ballot Hall of Famer has also won two Gold Gloves in the field.

His role as the pace car driver will be to try to maintain the pace of the cars in the race at times when there is a major stoppage during the race. The three-time MVP, as well as anyone in the Bigs, will likely not be gearing up for spring training this weekend. That being said, Pujols still has a major sporting event to participate in.
