LA Angels fans take notice, Cam Bedrosian is having a monster year in the bullpen during an otherwise rough time for the Angels relief corps.

With so many changes coming out of the bullpen this season, the LA Angels look lost at their relief pitching staff and will need a total makeover come next year.

With names like Jose Alvarez, Mike Morin, and Greg Mahle being shipped down to the minors because of their poor play, you can see why the LA Angels are in desperate need of a makeover.

However, there has been a few bright spots for the LA Angels pitching staff and one of them is Cam Bedrosian.

Bedrosian is quietly having a breakout year for the Angels and it has come unnoticed because of how poorly the Angels have played. But, he has arguably been the Angels best pitcher this year when he has had the opportunity.

In 34 games this year, Bedrosian has pitched 30 total innings and he has an ERA of 1.20 which is incredible. His WHIP is currently 1.10 which also leads the Angels pitching staff. Not to mention, hitters are only batting .218 against Cam this season.

To give you a better perspective on how well Bedrosian has been pitching, In his last 15 games, he has only allowed six hits and no earned runs which is remarkable.

This comes at a bit of a surprise though. Before this year, Bedrosian saw  himself being shuffled down to the minors and up to the majors quite frequently. Last year, his ERA was a staggering 5.40 while in 2014 it was even worse at a 6.52 ERA in only 19 innings pitched.

So what has changed his game?

Confidence. His fastball now has an average velocity of around 95 MPH which is an increase of previous seasons and his slider sits at 82 MPH which is also an increase from previous seasons. Bedrosian came ready to play this year and when he has had the opportunity, he has made most of it which makes him even more confident going into games. If Bedrosian keeps this up, he can be a deadly option for the Angels at the back part of their bullpen next season, most likely replacing Joe Smith as the set-up man as Smith will be a free agent at the end of the season.

What does this mean for the LA Angels?

As for the rest of this season with Bedrosian performing so well this year, there would be no surprise if manager Mike Scioscia relies on him even more to finish out the year. If he keeps doing what he has been doing thus far for the Angels, expect Bedrosian to be the setup man for Joe Smith and Huston Street. Almost the same role that Trevor Gott pitched in last year before being traded to the Washington Nationals. He also could unseat Smith for the 8th inning role or take over the role if Smith is traded before the July 31st deadline.

Either way Cam Bedrosian looks to have earned a place in the Angels bullpen for good, or at least through the end of this season.
