The Los Angeles Angels week on the farm: Taylor Ward appears to have shaken off his struggles, and Jahmai Jones and Matt Thaiss continue to impress.

1. Taylor Ward, C, Class A Advanced Inland Empire

Season: .246/.313/.301
Ward had a hit in all four of his games this week. He went 3 for 5 on Wednesday against Rancho Cucamonga and homered on Sunday against Lake Elsinore.

2. Jahmai Jones, OF, Rookie level Orem

Season: .333/.394/.472
Jones continued to play well. He had four multi-hit games, including going 3 for 4 with a double against Billings on Sunday, and he had a double and a triple against Billings on Saturday. He also stole three bases against Great Falls on Wednesday.
3. Nate Smith, LHP, Triple-A Salt Lake
This week: 1 start, ND, 7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 3.86 ERA
Season: 6-3, 3.98 ERA
Smith pitched well on Sunday against Omaha but took a no-decision, as he allowed three runs in seven innings of work and struck out five.
4. Victor Alcantara, RHP, Double-A Arkansas
This week: 1 start, L, 3 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 BB, 1 K, 9.00 ERA
Season: 3-7, 4.57 ERA
Alcantara struggled last Monday against Midland, as he walked six batters and gave up two hits in just three innings.
5. Kaleb Cowart, INF, Triple-A Salt Lake
This week: .214/.353/.286
Season: .271/.331/.409
On Wednesday, Cowart played a few innings at first base and struck out in his only plate appearance. On Sunday, he went 2 for 4 with a double and two walks against Omaha.

6. Joe Gatto, RHP, Class A Burlington
Season: 3-8, 7.03 ERA
Gatto has been on the disabled list since June 25 and did not pitch this week.
7. Jake Jewell, RHP, Class A Advanced Inland Empire
This week: 1 start, L, 6.1 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 5.68 ERA
Season: 1-8, 5.58 ERA
Jewell got knocked around by Rancho Cucamonga in his one start this week, allowing four earned runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings of work.
8. Chad Hinshaw, OF, Double-A Arkansas
Season: .191/.289/.304
Hinshaw has been on the disabled list since June 11 and did not play this week.
9. David Fletcher, INF, Class A Advanced Inland Empire
This week: .296/.345/.519
Season: .257/.316/.318
Fletcher hit his first two home runs of the season this week, against Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday and against Lake Elsinore on Saturday.
10. Roberto Baldoquin, INF, Class A Advanced Inland Empire
This week: .227/.320/.227
Season: .156/.212/.188
Baldoquin had back-to-back two-hit games this week, on Monday against Lancaster and Tuesday against Rancho Cucamonga.

Skaggs, rehabbing in Salt Lake, earned Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week honors after he dominated Omaha on Thursday. He went seven innings and allowed just one hit and no runs while striking out 14 batters, tying Jered Weaver‘s club record set in 2006.
Matt Thaiss, INF, Class A Burlington

Thaiss had two multi-hit games and walked four times this week as his offensive ability continues to impress.
Kyle McGowin, RHP, Triple-A Salt Lake
This week: 1 start, W, 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 0.00 ERA
Season: 7-8, 5.13 ERA
McGowin shut out Omaha for six innings on Friday, allowing just three hits and striking out seven. You can read about it here.
