Angels fans made sure Arte Moreno heard them one final time before leaving

Arte Moreno shocked the baseball world yesterday with the surprise sale of the Los Angeles Angels to Stan Kroenke, the Owner of the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Arsenal F.C. It was a day of great jubilation for Angels fans, who had been bemoaning Moreno's tenure as owner for years.

Angels fans came out in droves to support the sale of the team for Halo's Monday night game. Signs in the crowd for years that had read "sell the team" and "Arte sell now" switched last night to "KSE [Kroekne Sports Entertainment] thank you" and "sell the team" with a check mark next to it. The fans in the crowd let Moreno hear it as well. "Goodbye Arte" was chanted by fans all around the stadium yesterday.

The Angels fan base had been fed up with Moreno's tenure as owner for years. A lack of true investment around one of the game's greatest players, no internal development from prospects, and poor front office management have seen the Angels become one of the league's laughing stocks. The Angels have not won 80 games in a season since 2017, had a season with a winning record since 2015, and haven't made the playoffs since 2014.

The hope from the fan base now is that, with Kroenke, a proven winner, steering the ship, the Angels will finally be competitive again. Mike Trout recognized Kroenke's track record as an owner when speaking with reporters, while also sharing the fans' sentiment.

"You kind of felt that way, it was needed. No hard feelings to Arte. But I'm super excited. The guys are excited. There's a good vibe around the clubhouse, vibe around the stadium," the three-time MVP said. "You look at the track record, I know one thing that's gonna be on his mind is get to the World Series, win a championship. As a player, it makes you feel good to have that and to feel that."

Trout's feelings completely echo the fanbase's. Getting an owner who will actually commit to winning is the one thing Angels fans have hoped for. With Kroenke taking over, Angels fans can hopefully relax and know that the person at the helm is there for one thing: to win.
